Helen James Textile Design

Helen James studied textile design at the National College of Art and Design before leaving to further her career in New York. During her ten years there, Helen worked for designers Donna Karan, Katayone Adeli and for Club Monaco, Levi's and Victoria's Secret.

Helen set up her eponymous line of silk and leather accessories in 1997 and her work has sold in New York, Los Angeles, Britain and Ireland. She returned to Ireland in 2002. All of the pieces are handprinted by Helen at her studio in Westmeath with original silk screens.

In 2002, Helen's work was included in the exhibition "The Bold and the Beautiful" at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, which toured the U.S. and Japan, Her work is now a part of the Institutes permanent collection.
